You’re never too old to giggle with helium.
You’re never too old to sing nursery rhymes in a round.
And sometimes, no matter how old you are, you just can’t get the song right.
Diary of a pink balloon.
Today I was planning on walking down 5th Avenue in Manhattan to see what’s left of the traditional NYC Easter Parade.
After crashing at a friend’s place in Sunset Park, I realized that it would be quite a trek to midtown Manhattan.
Luckily, there is a 5th Ave in Brooklyn too :)
p.s. I also bought a pink balloon. I liked it a lot.
“Easter Parade”: laugh all you want but I look forward to watching this movie once a year every year. It was a classic in my house growing up (all the old MGM movies were) and Judy Garland was one of my favorite stars.
It wasn’t until sometime last year that it finally occurred to me that the 5th Ave Parade depicted in the movie might still happen and… what do you know… I live in NYC so I could actually go to it!
Some basic research shows that the annual Parade still occurs although apparently it now echos halloween?! What a disappointment. What I would give to jump back to 1946 and see all the beautiful people walk by with their elegant hats and luxurious outfits.
That won’t stop me from checking it out this weekend though…! Who’s in? Sunday- the “Easter Bonnet Festival”.
